About me
I have a PhD in Contemporary Political History (UnB- Brazil) with collaborative time at Princeton University as a Visiting Student Research Collaborator. Master in pre-Columbian history (UNICAMP-Brazil). I am a specialist in international education (Shiga University, Japan ). Humanities teacher with 20 years of experience. Former undersecretary of Innovation at the ministry of education of the Federal District (Brazil), was responsible for the state's response to covid 19 crisis. Currently, I am interested in racism and Baptist missions to Brazil and I have a podcast about Cold War and Latin America.

"Finally, after several delays, I visited Corrente, Piauí, our most remote Mission Station in Latin America, or possibly the world.” Those were the words of Everett Gill, who was Secretary for Latin America of the Richmond Mission Board from April 25, 1942 until his death in 1954. This book contains all the reports produced between 1944 and 1974 by North American missionaries who were at Corrente station, "the most remote station in the world". This compilation of reports is an important body of primary documentation on the beginnings of Protestantism in Brazil. But it is also an affective dive into the history of the city of Corrente, and a beautiful and illuminating portrait of the alliances and conflicts formed between men and women in Piauí's hinterlands and the men of women of the segregated Southern United States. Through these reports, it is possible to get to know even better the Instituto Batista Industrial (later Instituto Batista Correntino), a school that is part of the missionary station itself and which turned one hundred years old in 2020.
